Sulphur Bluff downs TCA, 3-1

The Sulphur Bluff varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams swept Trinity Christian Academy in Sept. 7 action during home non-district action. The Lady Bears varsity won by scores of 25-17, 14-16, 25-18 and 25-19. Alley Collett led the way with 29 assists and 7 service points. Tori Raine turned in 12 points and four kills, Jada Wade had 12 points and three kills, Skylar Stanley added nine kills and one block, and Ann Dorner tallied 9 service points and nine kills. Other standouts were Dalena Di Dona-to, Angel Brown and Cierra Johnson. The junior varsity Lady Bears won 25-7 and 25-11. Lydia Drummard had 10 service points and five kills, while Taylor Wallis served for 8 points. Standouts were: Tori Ainsworth, Bailey Neal, Allie Easton and Destiny Johnson.

Several cross country teams from the county participated Sept. 7 in the East Texas Cross Country Shootout in Commerce. Jorja Bessonett of Miller Grove took first place in a time of 11:23. Other Miller Grove places and times include:
