Sign-ups ongoing for Franklin County Youth Soccer league

Those looking to get their kicks on the soccer field won’t have to venture too far outside Hopkins County.

The Franklin County Youth Soccer Association recently announced that the sign-up period for the upcoming fall season is now underway. Sign-up fees are $40 per player and additional siblings from the same family are $35 each. Checks are asked to be made out to Franklin County Youth Soccer Association or FCYSA.

All forms and fees are due by Aug. 24, the date of try-outs, and no registration or shirt orders will be taken after that date.

All tryouts will take place on Aug. 24. Players in the U6 division will try out from 8-8:45 a.m. Tryouts for the U8 division will take place from 9-9:45 a.m. U10 tryouts will be from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by U12 tryouts from 11-11:45 a.m. U14 tryouts will take place from noon-12:45 p.m. The team draft will follow each tryout, followed by a mandatory meeting for coaches at 1 p.m. at the Franklin County Airport. Rules and uniforms will be discussed and fundraising items will be given to each coach.

Players and parents are asked to stay following their tryout to meet their coaches. The season begins Sept. 21 and ends Nov. 16.

Registration forms may be picked up and dropped off at CB&J Embroidery and Screen Printing or Jones Portable Buildings in Sulphur Springs, at Dairy Queen in Mount Vernon or at the Hagansport General Store.
