The district awards for Class 5A District-15 were announced, and multiple Wildcats were awarded for the strong seasons they had.

Senior Sadaidriene Hall was named the MVP of the district. Hall had a very strong season, consistently having 20-point performances and making great plays to spark the Wildcats offense. Senior Cameron Kahn was named the Offensive MVP. Kahn also had a very impressive campaign, regularly posting double-digit performances while bringing a tough game on the defensive end.

Senior Grayson McClure and junior Boo Wilkerson were both named First Team All-District. McClure had a great season, doing most of his damage from behind the 3-point line. Fellow junior Lamodrick Johnson was named Second Team All-District. Senior Justin Brock and sophomore Justin Haire were both honorable mentions.

Players weren’t just awarded for their on-court success, however, as Brock, Haire, Wilkerson, Johnson, Hall and McClure were all named Academic All-District as well.

The Wildcats had a strong season, finishing with a 27-9 record. Sulphur Springs had a great preseason, racking up several impressive wins including: No. 19 in Class 4A Paris, 67-61; No. 3 Class 5A Shadow Creek, 57-46; and No. 3 Class 6A Killeen Ellison, 55-53.

Sulphur Springs went 8-2 in district play, earning them the No. 2 seed in their district. They also finished the regular season ranked No. 10 for Class 5A in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.

The Wildcats opened the postseason by beating Lufkin in the Bi-District round by a final score of 78-55. In the Area round Sulphur Springs faced Red Oak and got another big win, beating them 61-38 and advancing to the Regional Quarter Finals. The Wildcats season came to an end after a close 44-38 loss to No. 1 Lancaster.
