INDIANAPOLIS- The Dallas Mavericks traveled to Indianapolis Wednesday to take on the Indiana Pacers. The Mavericks entered the night riding a three-game losing streak, after falling to the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors.

Luka Doncic got off to a fast start, scoring the first bucket of the game, and picking up assists on four of the Mavericks next five shots, before making another jump shot to put Dallas ahead 14-8. The Mavericks wasted no time building their lead, going up by double-digits thanks to a floater in the lane from backup guard Trey Burke. Dallas struggled to hold on to their lead in the second quarter, being outscored 35-28 in the frame. With just seconds left in the half, Indiana’s JaKarr Sampson scored to bring the Pacers within two points, and the Mavericks lead was cut to 65-63 at the half.

Dallas lost their lead in the opening minutes of the second half, but Kristaps Porzingis scored on four consecutive possessions to put the Mavericks ahead 76-72. Doncic followed with four straight points of his own, and the Mavericks took a one-point lead into the final frame.

Dallas went on a huge run in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, quickly building their lead to 112-100. Indiana was never able to fight their way back, and the Mavericks cruised to a 124-112 win. Porzingis was the lead

Porzingis was the leading man, finishing with game-high’s in both points (27) and rebounds (13). The Mavericks big man made 12 of his 15 attempts and was also able to pick up four assists in the 12-point win.

Burke was the next leading scorer for Dallas, finishing with 22 points thanks in large part to a 4-8 shooting night from behind the 3-point line. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson also played big roles in the win, each finishing with 19 points. Doncic had a quiet night offensively with 13 points, but grabbed 12 rebounds and 12 assists to give him a triple-double.

The win gets Dallas back to .500 with a 7-7 record to start the season. Dallas will be back in action Saturday for a home game against the Houston Rockets at 7:30 p.m.
