It was only 91 degrees Monday, but with 60% humidity, it was a hot, sticky day for East Texas Junior Golf Tour members who were out in force to compete.
In the High School Division, Matthew Peterson of Mount Pleasant carded 75 in the heat, followed by George Burrows and Brady Sisk, both of Mount Pleasant, who tied for second with an 81 and played in a sudden death playoff for the silver medal. Burrows won second on the first playoff hole.
High School girls saw a flip in winners as this week Katie Hart finished ahead of Grelyn Goolsby, both of Mount Pleasant, which was the exact opposite from a week before. Isabella Greco and Sophie Greco tied for third place.
In the Junior High Division Jacob Baker of Mount Pleasant carded, 78 followed by Isaac Stanley of Sulphur Springs, who won in a sudden death playoff over Landon Weaver of Mount Pleasant, both of whom scored a 104.
The Junior Girls Division saw the continued dominance of Kylee Strickland of Mount Pleasant who won her second tournament of the year followed by Adie Rosewell, also of Mount Pleasant and Kenlie Mayben of Pittsburg.
The 11 & Under Division saw a solid effort with Alex Hammonds of Atlanta posting a 36 while being chased by Connor Castro of Gilmer and Ryan Weaver of Mount Pleasant, both finishing with a 46.
