Morgan stands out with 13 assists, 7 kills

CUMBY—The Cumby Lady Trojans hosted Yantis Tuesday for their second district match of the season. The Lady Trojans defeated Boles in their district opener Friday in three sets.

Cumby continued their hot streak Tuesday, defeating Yantis in three straight sets as well, improving their district record to 2-0 and making them winners of their last six consecutive sets. The Lady Trojans never once found themselves in any danger, winning by scores of 25-7, 25-11 and 25-10.

Sophomore Erin Morgan had an impressive game, leading the team with 13 assists while contributing seven kills in the 3-0 win. Fellow sophomores Heather McCraw and Neely Hammond led the way offensively, finishing with eight and seven kills, respectively.

Senior Rylee Krotky had an impressive match defensively, tallying nine digs on the night.

Cumby continued their streak of winning and winning big, as they have now won all four of their matches 3-0. Their one loss on the season this far came on the road to Blue Ridge on Sept. 1. In their 3-1 loss to Blue Ridge, the set scores ended with Blue Ridge on top 25-18, 20-25, 25-18 and 25-22.
