FRUITVALE—The Cumby Lady Trojans traveled to Fruitvale Tuesday, where they picked up their fourth consecutive win, improving to 4-0 in district play. Their most recent loss came against Blue Ridge on Sept. 1 in their final game non-district match of the season.

The Lady Trojans dominated all night, winning in three straight sets, by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-16. In their four district wins, Cumby has now won 12 sets while only losing in two.

Sophomore Erin Morgan led the way for the Lady Trojans, filing the stat sheet on both offense and defense. Morgan had 35 assists in the 3-0 win, while also tallying seven kills and six digs.

Fellow sophomore Neely Hammond stood out in the Cumby victory. Hammond had 18 digs, 14 kills and six blocks, all of which were the most of any Lady Trojan.

Other notables for Cumby were Ashlyn Hudson who had nine kills, six digs and two blocks. Heather McCraw pitched in with eight kills, and Rylee Krotky shined defensively, tallying 15 digs in the match.
