Lady Panthers wining streak comes to an end

LONE OAK—The North Hopkins Lady Panthers traveled to Lone Oak Sept. 1 for one of their final non-district games of the season. The Lady Panthers entered on a three-game winning streak, including wins over Pittsburg, Trenton and Sulphur Bluff.

Lone Oak opened the match with a pair of close wins, taking the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-23.

The Lady Panthers were able to avoid being swept with a huge third set, which they won, 25-12. Lone Oak bounced back in the fourth set, however, winning 25-15, to give them the 3-1 win for the match.

The loss makes North Hopkins 3-3 on the season. The Lady Panthers have one final non-district game on the road Tuesday against Mount Vernon. They will begin district play on the road against Yantis Friday.
