Aguilar scores three runs

CAMPBELL — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers earned a huge 21-1 victory over the Campbell Lady Indians on the road Friday. The game was decided from the early going, as the Lady Panthers scored 19 runs in the top of the first and added two more in the top of the second, leading to the win.

The first inning started with the Lady Panthers quickly loading the bases after Sailan Adair reached on a dropped third strike, and Daylee Fite and Stevana Buchanan walked. This was followed by Lucy Hernandez being hit by a pitch, bringing Adair home and giving the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead. This was followed by Emily Garcia hitting an RBI single, bringing Fite home and making the score 2-0.

The scoring continued when Buchanan and Hernandez stole home and Hadlee Hrabal hit an RBI double, bringing Garcia home and making the score 5-0. After Krystal McPherson walked, Hrabal stole home to make the score 6-0. After Phillips and Jaylynn Elder both walked, Mariana Aguilar hit an RBI single, driving McPherson home and making the score 7-0.

After Phillips stole home to make the score 8-0, Jolly hit a single. This was followed by Aguilar and Elder stealing home, making the score 10-0. Kaylee Elder hit an RBI single next, bringing Chelsea Jolly home and bringing the score to 11-0.

After Tucker walked and Adair was hit by a pitch, Fite struck out. Kaylee Elder would then steal home, raising the score to 12-0. This was followed by Buchanan being walked.

After Aguilar stole home, Hernandez walked. After Adair was caught stealing home, Garcia walked. This was followed by Buchanan, Hernandez, and Garcia all stealing home, bringing the score to 16-0.

After Hrabal, McPherson, and Phillips all walked, Elder walked to bring Hrabal home, making the score 17-0. This was followed by McPherson and Phillips stealing home to raise the score to 19-0. Their turn finally ended after Elder was caught stealing third base.

The Lady Indians came to the plate next, facing Fite in the circle. After a single and batter hit by a pitch, Fite recorded two strikeouts. After Campbell scored on a steal on home to make the score 19-1, Fite recorded another strikeout, ending the first inning.

The top of the second inning began with Aguilar walking. This was followed by Jolly hitting an RBI triple, bringing Aguilar home and making the score 20-1. This was followed by Kaylee Elder hitting an RBI single, bringing Jolly home and ending the game, giving the Lady Panthers a 21-1 victory.

As a team, the Lady Panthers batted 8 for 10 (.800) from the plate. Kaylee Elder and Jolly led with two hits each, while Aguilar, Garcia, Hrabal, and McPherson added one hit each.

Aguilar was the leading scorer with three runs. Buchanan, Kaylee Elder, Garcia, Hernandez, Hrabal, McPherson, and Phillips scored two runs each, while Adair and Fite added one run each.

Fite earned the victory in the circle, finishing with three strikeouts and only allowing one hit and one earned run.

With the win, the Lady Panthers are up to 4-4 on the season. Their next game is Tuesday, when they welcome the Cooper Dogettes to Ruth Long Field.
