Improve to 2-0
The Saltillo Lady Lions improved to 2-0 Friday with an impressive 65-28 victory over the Fruitvale Lady Bobcats.
Saltillo would start the first quarter strong, jumping out to an early 11-3 lead. The Lady Lions would continue their impressive performance by outscoring the Lady Bobcats 16-9 in the second quarter, taking a 27-12 lead into halftime.
The third quarter would see a continuation of the Lady Lions’ dominance, as they outscored Fruitvale 22-8 and extended their lead to 49-20. Saltillo would finish the job in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Lady Bobcats 17-11 to close out the victory.
“We played well as a team, and our intensity was where we wanted it for our second game,” coach Nick Boekhorst said.
The Lady Lions will look to continue this momentum as the season progresses.
