NORTH HOPKINS - The Miller Grove Lady Hornets traveled to North Hopkins Tuesday for a district match. Each team entered the night coming off wins in their previous games.

The game opened with a very tightly contested first set that saw the lead change four times and the score tie eight different times. With the score 19-19, North Hopkins made a push, taking the lead and never looking back. The Lady Panthers took the opening set, 25-22.

After losing a close first set, Miller Grove bounced back strong, scoring the first three points to open the second frame. The Lady Hornets continued to build their lead, getting up 6-1 early.

The biggest lead Miller Grove built in the set came late, when they led 20-11. The Lady Panthers tried to fight back, but ultimately it was Miller Grove who took the second set, 25-18.

The third set played out very similarly, with the Lady Hornets scoring first, and never giving their lead away. Things stayed close early, but Miller Grove went on a 6-0 run that gave them a 14-6 lead and they were able to cruise the rest of the way. The Lady Hornets went on to take the set, again but a score of 25-18.

The fourth set opened much the way the first one did with North Hopkins scoring first and things staying close the entire time. No team was able to get an edge on the other, with the lead changing six times, and the score being tied 11 times.

With the score 18- 18, Miller Grove scored the next point, going on a 6-3 run to take the set, 25-21. The win makes two straight for the Lady Hornets, after they beat Como-Pickton 3-0 last week.
