Romero leads with 30 digs
COMO-PICKTON—The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles hosted Alba-Golden Monday for the Lady Eagles senior night. Como-Pickton honored seniors Shakela Sims, Faith Watkins, Chloe Romero and Lexi Busby before the game.
The Lady Eagles dropped the first set, 16-25, but bounced back and won the next two sets by scores of 25-23 and 27-25. Needing just one more set to take the win, the Lady Eagles fell just short, losing the final two sets, 23-25 and 12-15.
The team leaders were Romero with 30 digs, Busby, who had 12 digs, and Mattison Buster with 10 attacks.
Como-Pickton has one home game left, against Cumby Tuesday. The junior varsity is set to begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow. The Lady Eagles have a bye Friday and travel to North Hopkins Saturday for the final game of the season. The junior varsity being at 10 a.m. with the varsity to follow.
