Lady Cats win key match at Texas High

TEXARKANA — The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats scored an important district volleyball win on the road Friday, Oct. 11.

The Lady Cats (21-13, 3-2) won 3-0 over defending district champions Texas High. Sulphur Springs took the match in quick order by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 26-24 in varsity play.

“We played well but could have been stronger. Sadie Washburn had 13 kills, and Brooklynn Burnside had eight kills,” said Bailey Dorner, Lady Cats head coach.

In sub-varsity play Friday, the Sulphur Springs junior varsity won 25-19, 20-25 and 25-17; the freshmen Lady Cats were victorious at 25-19 and 25-18.

All three Sulphur Springs teams play at Royse City on Tuesday and on the road at Lindale Friday in key tilts.
