It was Senior Night for the Lady Cats, but it was Texas High who won the match.

While Sulphur Springs seniors Braely Vickery, Erika VanBenthem, Kaylee Malone, Sydney Washburn and Aliyah Abron were honored in pre-game ceremonies, it was the visiting Lady Tigers stealing the spotlight.

The final home game of the season went to Texas High. The Lady Cats fell by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25 and 6-15.

Sulphur Springs is in the playoffs and will play at a time and date to be determined. Texas High came into the match with a 2-7, but played well enough to end the season of an upset over a playoff team.

The Lady Cats took a quick 1-0 lead, winning the first set 25-21. Sulphur Springs played well and flexed their muscles early breaking an 8-all tie to bolt ahead 16-10. Texas High made a late run, but could not catch up.

The second set was tight from the very start despite the Wildcats getting several key points from Brooklyn Burnside, Sadie Washburn and Abron at the net. The set was tied eight times. Sulphur Springs bounced back in the third set. The Lady Cats led most of the game. Parris Pickett and Czhela Moya made key serves as did Parris Pickett in the 25-20 win.

Up 2-1 in sets, the Lady Cats could not close the match. Texas High won the fourth set, 23-25 and forced a fifth and deciding set.

In the fifth set, the Lady Tigers won 15-6 to take the match.
