Sulphur Springs and several other teams in the county will be competing Tuesday in postseason volleyball competition at different locations.

The Lady Cats will be in action at 7:30 p.m. against Halls-ville in bi-district action set at Tyler Junior College.

Sulphur Springs and Hallsville were longtime members of the same district in recent years.

The Lady Cats played against Paris in a warm-up game Friday, Nov. 1 at Sulphur Springs High School.

“We won 20-25, 25-18 and 25-20. We played well, and the girls are starting to use strategy and see the floor better. I feel good about Tuesday. If we play well, we should be okay,” said Bailey Dorner, Lady Cats first year head volleyball coach.

Hallsville is 30-12 for the season. The Lady Bobcats ended the regular season with 13 consecutive district victories.

“Our girls are excited and a little nervous too. Very few of them have ever been to playoffs, so they are looking forward to it,” said Dorner.

Other teams also secured postseaason berth.

In Class 1A volleyball playoffs, Sulphur Bluff earned a spot against rival Yantis. The teams will collide for bi-district Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Harts Bluff, according to information on the school website.

North Hopkins will play Tuesday at Paris Chisum at 6 p.m., taking on a team from Rivercrest.

The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles also are in postseason action. They take on Detroit at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mount Vernon High School gym.

Miller Grove plays at 6 p.m. Thursday in Mount Vernon against Union Hill.

Results from playoff games will published as they are received from coaches.
