BULLARD- The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats golf team traveled to Bullard Tuesday for their first tournament of the year.

“This was one of the coldest tournaments I’ve ever coached at,” coach Whitney Spigener said. “Even with the cold weather, a difficult course, and slow play the Lady Cats showed out!”

Senior Mariam Tran shot a 78 and took home first place according to Spigener. Sophomore MyKylie Meador shot her second lowest round of 93 which placed eighth, and freshman Autumn Allen shot her personal best of 118.

“We were unable to have our entire team there due to scheduling conflicts. However, we look great in comparison to some of our district opponents,” Spigener said. “This tournament had a large field consisting of 17 teams and a total of 90 players.”

The Lady Cats next scheduled tournament is Thursday, Feb. 18 at Garden Valley in Lindale.
