The No. 15-state ranked Sulphur Springs Lady Cats fell 3-0 in their final non-district match of the season Tuesday against the Lady Braves on the Nevada Community.

The Lady Cats lost the varsity match 22-25, 15-25 and 16-25. The junior varsity squad was defeated 15-25, 25-23 and 23-25. The SSHS freshmen girls won 25-15 and 25-20.

The Lady Cats will open district volleyball action at home Friday. The varsity will begin play at 5 p.m. followed by the JV and freshmen.

“Against Community we didn’t play well. I think our preseason schedule has prepared us for district. I think our girls are ready to get it started,” said Bailey Dorner, Lady Cats first year head coach.

The Lady Cats enter varsity district play at 18-11 while Royse City is 21-10.
