MILLER GROVE- The Miller Grove Hornets hosted Campbell Tuesday for their senior night game. Before the game Miller Grove honored their two seniors, Kobe Robertson and Matt Brignon.

The Hornets opened the game firing on all cylinders, wasting no time getting their offense rolling. Lexton Sly knocked down three 3-pointers in the frame, while Brignon had a pair of baskets inside. With time running out in the opening frame Tanner Hensley hit a baseline jumper that extended the lead to 23-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The Hornets kept their offense going in the second quarter, as Robertson found Isaiah Billingsely open for a corner 3-pointer early in the frame. On the next possession the roles flipped, and Billingsley found Robertson open for a 3-pointer, the back-to-back buckets from long range pushed Miller Grove’s lead to 38-14. The Hornets kept their foot on the gas and entered the locker room leading 47-22.

The third quarter was a slow one for Miller Grove as they were only able to score 10 points in the frame. Four points came from Robertson who had one 3-pointer and made one free throw in the quarter. Landon Burnett had four points of his own in the frame, and the Hornets led 57-35 entering the fourth quarter.

Robertson continued his big scoring night in the final frame, scoring nine of the 20 fourth quarter points for Miller Grove. At two separate points head coach Gary Billingsley pulled his seniors Brignon and Robertson so they could receive applause from the crowd. Miller Grove cruised in the final minutes with their backups in and walked away with the win, 77-51.
