Bi-District finalists a season ago
The 2020-2021 basketball schedule for the Miller Grove Hornets has been released, and they are hoping to improve on their success from a season ago. Last year, Miller Grove finished in third place in District-23A and earned a trip to the playoffs.
The Hornets ran into Avery in the opening round of the playoffs and lost 66- 62 in overtime. After a rare season in which they didn’t lose a single player, the Hornets are looking to improve on that success this year.
Miller Grove will be led by senior Kobe Roberson and junior Isaiah Billingsley, who were each named First Team All-District a season ago. Roberson was the team’s leading scorer, regularly finishing with 20-point games, while Billingsley ran the offense for the Hornets, creating opportunities both for himself and his teammates.
Also returning for Miller Grove is senior Matt Brignon and junior Lexton Sly. Both Brignon and Sly were Second Team All-District last year. Tanner Hensley and Riley Hasten were both named honorable mentions and will be returning as well.
