HC Ponytails advance to Dixie World Series title game

  • The Ponytails’ victory over Virginia was doubly special for Bella Romero, who celebrated her birthday Monday. Romero and the rest of the team enjoyed a cookie cake following their victory. The Ponytails took on Dothan, Ala. in the Dixie Ponytails World Series championship tilt Wednesday evening. Hopkins County needed to win twice to claim the title. The Angels lost Monday’s game to Alabama, 9-2, but bounced back to claim a top-four spot before being eliminated Tuesday. The Hopkins County Debs and Sweetees also finished in the top four in their respective tournaments.
