9 finish 1st place in SS meet
SSMS | Powerlifting
The Sulphur Springs Middle School powerlifting team had their first meet on Jan. 14 at the multipurpose building at the high school and had a number of people finish in the top three of their weight class.
First-place finishers for the Wildcats were Caleb Williams in the 105 weight class, Malachi Roland 114, Jadon Peek 123, Brandon Calix 132, Sam Ridner 148, Diamont Gotcher 181, Cross Spiel-man 198, Jackson Horton 220 and Jacovy Gordan 220-plus.
Second-place finishers for Sulphur Springs by weight class were:
• Max Williamson, 97
• Juan Santacruz, 105
• Brady Driver, 148
• Cameron Jefferson, 165 and
• Peyton Turner, 220-plus.
Finishing in third place in their respective divisions were Rigoberto Armendariz 114, Abraham Lopez 165, Rogelio Cruz 198 and Daylon Hall 220.
