Our kids will be ready to play,” said Ronnie Green, Como-Pickton head football coach.

It’s Senior Night for the Trojans are they are ready for Tioga according to Cumby head coach Tom Dracos.

Cumby is a 29-point favorite over Tioga. The Trojans are No. 25 in the state while the Bulldogs are No. 51.

“We were off last week and got a lot of the bumps and bruises healed up and we are ready to see another opponent. We play Tioga this week. They are 1-1 in district and the game will tell us who is second in our district. It is a big game for us. Tioga runs a spread on offense and a 50 defense. Defensively they are aggressive up front and there are a lot of kids in the backfield every play,” Dracos said.

The coach said he was proud of his team had played and accomplishments made during the season.

“Our Captains Colby Lindsey and Elijah Pahcheka have done a great job leading this team. They believe in the coaches and their teammates and hold all to high expectations. They say good teams have coaches hold kids accountable and great teams have players that do it and that is why we are a great team this year. They are both going to be outstanding leaders in the world one day. They will be deeply missed for way more than their great play.”

The coach then commented on seniors to be honored.

• Cameron Scott, “a great athlete and a great young man.”

• Tyler Kirby, “has shown great maturity.”

• Max WIppler, “has grown up quite a bit in the four years here”

• Braden Porter, “comes to practice with a good attitude and works hard.”

• Kyle Thomas, “has done a great job doing his part this year.”

• Zain Strickland, “showed true selflessness this season.”

• Jared Ashbaugh, “a young man that you can always count on.”

• Elijah Matthews, an absolute force on the field.”

“They have set a new standard for Cumby football where playoffs is an expectation. They have also set new standards off the field. They were all on the A/B honor roll last six weeks, they did three community service projects thus far this year, and were was rewarded a pep rally with Rowdy because of it,” the coach said.
