Meet set for March 20

WHITEHOUSE- The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats traveled to Whitehouse Wednesday for the Regional Powerlifting Meet. The Lady Cats had eight lifters who qualified for the Regional Meet.

Freshman Machell Allen earned second place in her weight class and the opportunity to compete at the Women’s State Powerlifting Meet March 20 in Corpus Christi. Allen had totals of 375 in squat, 135 bench and 320 deadlift.

Seniors Czhela Moya and Trinity Sickles finished in third place and fourth place respectively in the 97-pound weight class. Moya finished with 145 squat, 70 bench and 150 deadlift, while Sickles had 135 squat, 65 bench and 160 deadlift.

“I am very proud of how all eight Regional Lady Cat powerlifters competed,” coach Casey Jeter said. “Every lifter had a personal best lift in either squat, bench or deadlift, if not in all three.
