Stew 2020 is driving through

Here’s the best news I’ve been able to give you in a really long time—Stew 2020 is happening! It’s going to look very different than it usually does, but we did not have to cancel the event entirely. You will be able to drive through and pick up stew, and the best part is, as long as you order in advance, you can be very specific on whose stew you would like to purchase. You can make your pre-order beginning Oct. 1 by calling or coming by the Chamber. If you do not pre-order but drive through on Stew day, you will not be able to choose a specific cook’s stew. You will, though, get to choose chicken or beef.

The Chamber was able to sell 1,000 tickets for individuals to be in the park that day, and those tickets are completely sold out. No additional tickets for park admission will be sold, but the drive-thru will be available while supplies last. Stew will be held Saturday, Oct. 24. 2020.

Stew, We’re Driving Through! Thank goodness something is finally able to happen in 2020!

The Chamber of Commerce is currently selling our 2020 Hopkins County Christmas ornament. This ornament is the third of our series and features our beautiful Dairy Museum. It is dated with the year, made with 24-karat gold, shatterproof and very limited in number. They are quite beautiful and the perfect addition to a rare collection.

They are $40 each and literally flying out the door. If you would like to purchase one, please call the Chamber at 903-885-6515, or come by soon.

TULLY INSURANCE HOSTING VFD FUNDRAISER

Tully Insurance Agency is hosting a fundraiser for Hopkins County Volunteer Fire Departments. Individual fundraising efforts have come to a halt during COVID, and they have been unable to host cook-offs or fish frys to raise money. Many of the departments are in desperate need of air tanks and other crucial equipment.

Tully teamed up with Chad’s Media to create a video for the VFDs featuring all the different stations. You can find it on their Facebook page.

Tully Insurance is serving as the drop-off location for donations as well as providing online payment options. For more information, call Jason Tully at 903-439-2664.

LIONS CLUB RAFFLES KUBOTA SIDEKICK

Our local Lions Club is selling tickets for a Kubota Sidekick. Only 250 tickets will be sold, and they are $100 each. You may purchase your ticket at Legacy Ag Credit, Clarion Pointe, City National Bank and Farm Country. The drawing to be held Dec. 4.
