Right the wrongs that are going on

Dear Editor:

I want to say thank you to the protesters march and our great law enforcement officers for their peaceful demonstration. It could have been quite different in another place. But because we love and respect each other, it was very peaceful. I do hope we do not allow outside influences to come here.

I have been listening to several preachers discuss the “new normal” attitude by some. I started thinking about how the “old normal” was. It was so much more to be desired.

I remember when I was in school, we said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem, standing, of course. We sang “America the Beautiful” and obeyed the 10 Commandments. Now, the kids don’t even know them. I think we have been very negligent in what we have allowed to happen in our great country.

I for one do not want to live in a place where people burn and loot other peoples’ homes and businesses, where homegrown terrorists have control.

If yo want to know how we got here, read Psalm 78 in your Bible. If you want to know what to do see I Samuel 17:17-50. We are at war! The situation we find ourselves in is because we are in a spiritual war. Those circumstances we are facing is not because of race. We have failed to act when prayer was stopped in public schools, at ballgames and graduations. We are losing our First Amendment rights of free speech and religious liberty.

We need to pray for America with all our faults and thank God for all our many blessings. We need to walk up before it’s too late.

We have been holed-up in our homes and not able to attend church (building). But we have had time to hear much of God’s word. Our enemies do not understand that we are the church, not a building. It’s us; we are the church wherever we may be.

We have a chance to right some of the things that are going on Nov. 3 [U.S. Election Day]. I pray we will do so.

I doubt this will make it to print, but I felt led to write it anyway. To God be the glory.
