CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital-Sulphur Springs is excited about all of the ways we continue to expand our services to the local community. We want to make sure you know everything we offer — right here, close to home!

SERVICES

Are you expecting a baby? CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs is excited to share that we now have an option of Nitrous Oxide Pain Management during delivery. Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective analgesic for relieving pain, decreasing anxiety, inducing euphoria and/or reducing the awareness of pain.

Nitrous Oxide (in a 50/50 blend with oxygen) by inhalation may be used as analgesia for intrapartum labor pain. This is a great option for women who might not want an epidural or opioids during their labor. The Nitrous Oxide is breathed in through a mask, quickly cleared from your system (usually within just a few minutes of removing the mask), and has no effect on the baby.

EVENTS

The CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be Thursday, Dec. 5 in the hospital lobby at 6 p.m. This year, we will be lighting the beautiful 25-foot tree indoors to represent the Lights of Life campaign alongside the Festival of Trees. The Gardens at Memorial will also be decorated.

Instead of doing Luminaries as we have done in years past, we will have snowflakes that will adorn the windows of the hospital lobby in memory/honor of loved ones. Gala sponsors will receive a certain number of snowflakes, based on sponsorship level. Non-gala sponsors may pay $25 to recognize a loved one.

All funds raised with go to support the 2019-2020 Hopkins County Healthcare Foundation Lights of Life Campaign. For more information on purchasing a snowflake, please call 903-438-4799.

Also, CHRISTUS Health Plan Generations believes that knowledge is power. Monday, Dec. 2 you are invited to hear local representative Jesse Skinner present details about CHRISTUS Health Plan’s Medicare Advantage plans.

To sweeten the deal, upon listening to the presentation you will receive a voucher for a free pie from Plain & Fancy in downtown Sulphur Springs. There is no obligation to enroll in CHRISTUS Health Plan Generations. For more information or to RSVP, call Skinner at 903-629-5736.
