Funeral services for Victor Norman Watson, 64, of Frisco, formally of Sulphur Springs, were held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial took place at East Caney Cemetery.

Victor departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 11 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Victor was the second child born to Gyeula (Askew) and Tommy Levy Watson June 26, 1955. Victor grew up in Sulphur Springs and spent his formative years on East Ross Street and created a bond with the families that lasted a lifetime. He received his elementary education at Commerce ISD where his parents taught. He graduated from Mineola High School, Mineola, Texas. Victor attended Kilgore Junior College and graduated from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M University-Commerce, with a degree in business administration. He began his work career with Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) and retired in 2010 after 31 years of service. Victor accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in August 2017 and is now with his family in heaven.

Victor leaves to cherish his memory two aunts, Julia Askew Huff and Jackie Askew (Michael) Hubbard; two first cousins; an especially close and caring cousin, Patricia Harrison Cooper; and numerous other cousins, family and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Francis Dean (Danny) Watson; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
