Mr. Taylor passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at his home in Sulphur Springs.

Allen Roy Taylor was born June 6, 1957 in Cooper, Texas to Elwin and Hazel Taylor. He married Mary Bernal in Sulphur Springs in 1993. He was also a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church.

Allen Roy Taylor was loved by many. Many who knew him would tell you of his hard work ethic. He dedicated many years working for the city of Sulphur Springs. He loved his community, but most importantly, he valued his family, his wife Mary and their union of over 28 years, a son and four stepchildren who all see him not as a stepdad but a father. He embraced the simple things in life, a pure spirit that he was, an unending love for his wife Mary and all his children and many grandchildren, his many siblings and extended family. His wife and children experienced his unfaltering love, that only a great man can demonstrate.

Near his end days, his bravery, courage and optimism never ceased. He taught his family many lessons without saying a word but rather in being a family man, hardworking man, optimistic man and a brave man in his medical condition, which ultimately took him. These lessons will live on with his wife and children, because he was the greatest example of pure love and simplicity.

Forever in our hearts you remain as you guide us from above. Rest in peace, husband and father. Rest in peace to the greatest man!
