“Ron,” longtime resident of Sulphur Springs, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at CHRISTUS Mother of Francis Hospital. Sadly, Mr.Sprague battled with heart disease, only to succumb to COVID-19.

The second son of Hugh and Martha Sprague, Ron was born in Peoria, Ill. Feb. 2, 1937 and had two brothers, Hugh Brent and Dale, also of Sulphur Springs.

Ron was proud to have served in The United States Air Force as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division and fought valiantly in the Korean War.

Upon completion of his tour of duty, Ron settled in Anaheim, Calif. where he was “quite the ladies man!” and married four times, resulting in seven children. In the late 70s Ron moved to Como, where he built his beloved “RAMBLIN ROSE FARM & KENNELS” and worked in Greenville at E-Systems up until his retirement and final divorce from his fifth and final wife. He moved to Sulphur

Springs and lived there until the end.

Ronald K. Sprague is survived by: his children, Randall Rae Sprague and wife Lyn, Rogina Renee Sprague and husband Robert Payne, Gilbert Sprague, Terry Ann Sprague, Christie Sprague and husband Jim Moser and Julie and Steven Sprague; his grandchildren: Samantha Brooke Sprague, Lindsay Sprague, Aaron Michael Sprague, Alyson & Chase Sprague, Samantha and Sarah Payne; and his great-grandchildren: Payton and Paxton Payne and Sophia Sprague-Gomez.

Mr. Sprague will be laid to rest at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Sulphur Springs alongside his parents and Uncle Charlie.
