Rex Hargrave passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
Private graveside service for Rex Hargrave, 80, of Sulphur Bluff was held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at Tira Cemetery with Nick Lantz officiating. There was no formal visitation. Rex Hargrave went to his eternal rest June 3, 2020 at Meadow Lake Senior Living in Tyler, Texas.
He was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on Feb. 10, 1940 to Johnnie B. and Fay Watkins Hargrave. He married Elisabeth Janhsen in 1972. Their lives have been blessed by two caring daughters and four precious grandchildren. Rex worked with the V.F. Corporation for 38 years. Before his retirement in 1999 he served as plant manager for the H.D. Lee Company in Sulphur Springs and Lebanon, Mo. After his retirement he enjoyed golfing with friends. Rex was a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beth. Also surviving are his daughters: Melissa Day and her husband, Chris, and Kelley Garles and her husband, Andy; and his grandchildren, Rex Day, Gracie Day, Madeline Garles and Jaxon Garles were especially dear to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
