On Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, Oran Timothy Dwayne Echols, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 64.

Tim was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas Oct. 10, 1956, to Harold Echols and Thenia Mae (Jones) Williams. Raised by his loving grandparents, Matthew and Martha Jones, young Tim cultivated his princi-ples of hard work and dedication by assisting with the duties of the family farm. In 1975, he graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and eventually went on to work as an airplane mechanic for over 30 years in Greenville and Dallas, TX. During his years of partial retirement, Tim helped run the family business, Healing Touch Homecare, and was a proud truck driver for the United States Postal Service.

On Feb. 26, 2000, Tim married Mentoria Bernita Pitts and was married for 20 years.

Tim was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, his kind and compassionate spirit. He never met a stranger and was quick to help anyone. He enjoyed cooking, reading historical books, sharing wisdom, talking about the bible, woodwork, hosting and entertaining, traveling, drag racing, mechanical restoration and of course, he enjoyed his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories and celebrate his life: devoted wife Mentoria Bernita Echols, adoring children Candice Echols, Brittneye (Charles) Williams, Tiffany Echols, and Tamiya Echols, his infant granddaughters Aria and Arielle Williams, his brother Jerrell (Cecelia) Echols and sister Daphne M. Jackson, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandparents Matthew and Martha Jones and his paternal grandparents Green B. Echols, Jr and Edna Echols.

Celebration of life services will be Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at 1pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Greenville, Texas.
