Martha Stribling Johnson, 90, of Sulphur Springs was born Nov. 19, 1929 to William Gamblin and Lucille Darby Stribling. She passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019.
She was a longtime member of Shooks Chapel United Methodist Church. She was currently a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended Park Springs School as a young girl and later went to Sulphur Springs School to finish her education. In her early years, she worked at Sulphur Springs State Bank and later at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her son, John Wayne Moore and wife Kelly of Alaska.
Other survivors are nephews, Gary Stribling, David Stribling, Randy Stribling and Danny Stribling; and nieces Charlotte Burns, Sharon Jones and Nancy Osterberg.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chester Stribling, William (Bill) Stribling and John Stribling; sister, Ruth Clifton; and one nephew, Tom Stribling.
Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Shooks Chapel Church.
