Leon Lino Traghella passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 6, 2020 at his home in Grand Prairie, Texas.

He was born Feb. 19, 1934 to Lino and Ida Piccioni Traghella in Chicago, both of whom preceded him in death. Lee joined the National Guard in 1950 and served until 1957. He graduated from Chicago Teachers College in 1964 and taught courses there for a brief time.

Lee moved to Texas in 1973 and went to work for Roadway Freight Lines in 1979. He retired in 1996.

He loved every kind of outdoor activity: cycling, motorcycling, hiking, snow skiing, water skiing, mountain climbing and backpacking. He loved food, family, music and dancing.

He was a proud father who is survived by his three children, Larry, Nick and Renee; his grandchildren, Luke, Lauren, Levi and Dante; and his great-grandchildren, Isiah, Abigail, Leah, Alissa and Allison. Lee is also survived by his wife, Marjorie Miller and her children, Tracie Rueffer, Dale Miller and Becky Cope.

He requested that any donations on his behalf go to Wounded Warriors Fund, St. Jude’s or Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Viewing is Saturday, Feb. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. at Myra Wilson Chapel, and services are at 1 p.m. with burial following at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.
