Larry Wayne Perry, Sr., 80, a longtime resident of Birthright, Texas, passed away Aug. 20, 2021 in his home. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service on Sept. 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at North Hopkins Cemetery with Buddy Wiggins officiating.
He was born the son of Joel L. Perry and Eliza Louise Miller Perry in Van Alstyne, Texas April 11, 1941. He was married to Virginia Albertson Parker, Who preceded him in death in November of 2020.
He was well known in the Birthright community and often answered to Unc’ and Papa Harley. He worked as an electrician at Ocean Spray until he retired, but as most know, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was a master of all trades and could build anything with his bare hands.
He is survived by his siblings: Jim Perry of Atoka, Okla., Margie Smith of Birthright, Texas, Debbie Willis of Sherman, Texas, Jimmy Melton of Detroit, Texas and Dean Melton of Detroit, Texas. Surviving children are Larry Wayne Perry, Jr., Scott Perry, Joel Ross Perry, Rita Perry Reifel, Lisa Perry Tidwell, Misty Perry Primeaux, Everett Perry, Jason Perry. His grandchildren are Aimee Hunter Blackburn, Nathan Perry, Rebecca Anne Perry, Ross Perry, Trenton Tidwell, Haylee Tidwell, Lane Perry and Abigail Blackburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joel and Eliza Perry; wife Virginia Parker, brothers: Joel Perry of Yuma, Arizona, Robert Perry of Birthright, Texas, Billy Martel of Birthright, Texas, Dennis Ray Perry of Van Alstyne, Texas and daughter: Linda Jo Lebaron of Sherman, Texas.
