Funeral service for Joanne Stinson, 78, of Sulphur Springs will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Stinson and Rev. Pepper Puryear officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Wayne Galyean, Johnny Motes, Danny Christenberry, Price Orwosky, Rodney Harred and Randy Garrett serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Hulen, Wayne Benson and Wayman Keen. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stinson passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Carriage House Manor.
Joanne was born on July 15, 1940 in the Webb Hill Community of Hunt County, Texas to Charlie Lowell Mayes and Beulah May (Morgan) Mayes. She married David A. Stinson on Oct. 15, 1965 in Quinlan, Texas; he preceded her in death in 2012. Joanne was retired from Galyean Insurance as a receptionist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Stribling and husband David, Jr. of Sulphur Springs, Texas; son, Bruce Stinson and wife Gina of Winnie, Texas; grandchildren, Savannah Stinson and Tucker Stinson; and sister, Mary Keen and husband Wayman of Saginaw, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Jerlene Wrenn; and brother, Lowell Nelson Mayes.
