Funeral services for Jewel Valine Caviness Brown, 93, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 at Spence Chapel of First Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Lewis officiating and Dudley Hughes III assisting. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Pittsburgh with Louis Brown, Aaron Offutt, Matthew Schlabach, Mike Trevino, Sheldon Ginsberg and Jim Thompson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dudley Hughes III, Jeff Willett and Nick Bonanno. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020 at West Oaks Funeral Home.

Jewel passed away Feb. 23, 2020 on Plano, Texas.

She was born May 18, 1926 in Winnsboro, Texas, the daughter of Henry Coleman and Willie Edna Foster Caviness. She attended SMU and later worked as a nurse for over 20 years for Baylor Hospital and the Methodist Hospital in Dallas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.

She is survived by son, Alton Lynn Brown and wife Sheila of Pittsburg; daughters, Phyllis Roundtree and husband Roy Don of Sulphur Springs, Karen Gracey and husband Charles of Boquete, Panama, and Lisa Thompson and husband Greg of Dallas; grandchildren, Stephanie Trevino and husband Mike, Amy Bonanno and husband Nick, Kasey Willett and husband Jeff, Meredith Borders and Matt Schlabach, Lynsey Ginsberg and husband Sheldon, Robin Offutt and husband Aaron, Louis Brown and wife Jessica, and Nicole Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Trevino, Madelyn Ginsberg, Lucas Trevino, Rowan Bonanno, Katelyn Ginsberg, Hollyn Ginsberg, Cristiano Bonanno, Ayla Jewel Offutt, Hank Brown, Evan Offutt, Andi Offutt and Lane Brown.

She was preceded in death by husband, Alton Brown; her parents; brothers, J.T. Caviness, Louie Caviness and Allie Caviness; and sisters, Lou Ella Crenshaw, Leola Glover, Fern Sandlin and Virgie Basham. Arrangements are un
