Funeral service for Jerry Titsworth, 78, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating and Shane Carrington assisting. Interment with military honors will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Don Westbrook, Ronnie Parris, Thurman Littlefield, Jim Roberts, Steve Crawford and Freddy Daughtrey serving as pallbearers and William Dodd, Kenneth Taylor, Randy McCoy, Cody Titsworth, Brad Sims and Samantha Sims serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Titsworth passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital, Sulphur Springs.

Jerry Wayne was born Aug. 2, 1941 in the Gafford Chapel Community to Aubrey and Louise Tits-worth. He married Elaine Carrington on July 20, 1974 in Sulphur Springs. Jerry served in the U.S. Army, called to active duty during the Berlin crisis. He was an expert with the M1 rifle and was a squad leader. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Hopkins County Pct. 4. He was also a farmer, dairy farmer and salesman of farm equipment through the years. Jerry was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived his wife, Elaine; children, Tony Titsworth and wife Shirley, and Janette Titsworth Sims; grandchildren, Whitnie McCoy (Randy), Cody Titsworth, William Bradley Sims, Samantha Sims and Rhonda Shufeldt (Josh); great-grandchildren, JulieAnn McCoy, Jayla Shufeldt and Jolie Mc-Coy; mother-in-law, Verda Carrington.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Cortez Carrington; and son-in-law, William Merrell Sims Jr.
