Funeral Mass of Christian burial for James E. Kroupa, 71, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Sardinas officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Perry Cossette, Cody Huddleston, Dan Visty, Aleks Tigeris, Nikolai Tigeris, Dainis Tigeris, Brian Pfeifer and Jacob Pfeifer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John VanPelt, Jon Beggs, G. V. Hughes, Scotty Thompson and Seth Thompson.

James passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at CHRISTUS-Mother Frances in Tyler.

James was born July 9, 1948 in Nebraska, the son of Rudolph Kroupa and Mary Ellen Mahoney Kroupa. He married Pamela Sue Bartley in 1995 at Estes Park, Colorado. She survives. James worked for Safeway for over 35 years.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Jenny Pfeifer and husband Brian of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Laurie Tigeris and husband Dainis of Omaha, Nebraska; son, Cody Huddleston of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Cheryl Smith of Omaha, Nebraska, and Judi Visty and husband Dan of Papillion, Nebraska; grandchildren, Aleks Tigeris, Nikolai Tigeris, Livija Tigeris, Jacob Pfeifer, David Pfeifer, Ellie Pfeifer, Cheyenne Huddleston and Corbyn Huddleston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter, Katelin Kroupa.
