Private Family Memorial Service for Hazel Marie Skeen, 83, of Sulphur Springs was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Arbala Methodist Church with Jason Connor officiating. Interment was at Arbala Cemetery with Van Hargis, Ricky Gammill, James Anderson, Tommy Anderson, Robert Smith and John Knipmeyer serving as pallbearers. Public visitation was held 6-8 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Skeen passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at Medical City Dallas Hospital – Dallas.
Hazel Marie was born Jan. 22, 1937 in Arbala, Texas to Azz Gammill and Ora Bell Gammill. She was married to Max Lovelace, and then she remarried to Gene Skeen. Hazel was an aircraft electrician for E Systems. She was also a member of Arbala Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Donna Horton and husband Jim of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Deryl Leewright and wife,Nancy, of Madison, Alabama, Denise Agee of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and David Leewright and wife Ann of Caddo Mills, Texas; grandchildren, Russell “Rusty” Mannon, Heath Horton, Cory Horton, Shane Mannon, David Leewright Jr., Jonathan Leewright and Shanna Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Reba Gammill Hood and husband Curtis of White Oak, Texas.
Hazel Marie is preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; and siblings, Allen Gammill, Joe Gammill, Juanita Lloyd and Clarine Anderson.
