Graveside service for Claude Thompson, 83, of Winnsboro will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at his home in Winnsboro.

Claude was born March 1, 1937 in Sweatman, Miss. to Wade and Mary Thompson. He married Vonie Varner Jan. 8, 1955 in Mendenhall, Miss. Claude was a Glazer by trade, and excelled at his craft. He was a dedicated member of the Church of The Nazarene, for many, many years. Claude enjoyed reading his Bible, watching the hummingbirds drink from the feeders outside of his window and watching westerns on TV, and he really enjoyed having peanut butter and banana Chocolate shakes. He was a devoted husband, who loved his wife dearly. Claude loved his family, and made sure they too knew about Jesus, and if you ever met him, you knew he loved you, but most of all he loved Jesus. Claude made his journey to heaven to join his wife Jan. 2, 2021.

He is survived by his daughters Dolly Zehner and husband Chip of Colorado Springs, Colo., Deborah Swafford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Donna Sutherland and husband Chris of Texarkana, Texas, Danise Randall and husband David of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Deanna Belmonte and husband Edwin of Fate, Texas; son Danny Thompson and wife Chelly of Vancleave, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vonie; grandson, Jason Randall; and several brothers and sisters.
