Funeral service for Charles Arthur Stewart, 95, of Cumby will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Restland Cemetery with the Dallas Fire Department ringing the last bell. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Stewart passed away March 5, 2020 at Town East Rehab, Mesquite, Texas.
Charles was born Aug. 24, 1924 to William A. and Josephine Stewart in Tira, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marines and was part of the Pacific Theater during World War II. Charles was a retired Captain of the Dallas Fire Department and a Mason.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Smith of Sunnyvale; grandchildren, Sheila Herrero of Costa Rica and Sheryl White of Sunnyvale; great-grandchildren, Timothy James, Andrew White and Abigail White; and brother, James H. Stewart.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Travis Stewart and Gene Stewart; and sister, Mary Alice Stewart.
