Graveside Services for Bobbie Gay May, 88, of Sulphur Springs will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Bro. Jacob Jones officiating. A visitation will be held 1-2:30 p.m. March 18, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Bobbie Gay May, a resident of Carriage House Manor, passed away at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs March 13, 2020. She was born near Winnsboro, Texas April 9, 1931 to Roy and Ethel McKinnon and moved with her family to the Sulphur Bluff community in 1937. She graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School in 1949 and moved to Dallas shortly thereafter. She remained there until moving back to Hopkins County in 2004. She was employed with the City of Dallas for several years.

Bobbie faced many challenges in her lifetime, including the loss of her only child as a young adult, but she was a Christian and always trusted in the Lord to see her through turbulent times.

Bobbie is survived by her sisters, Ruby McKinnon and Billie Chester, both of Sulphur Springs; nieces, Karen Oliver of Red Oak, Texas, Kelly Oliver of Richardson, Texas, and Kimberly Hunter of Richardson, Texas; and nephew, Kevin Chester of Waxahachie, Texas, their spouses and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Philip Garner; sister, Sara Lanell Miller; and brothers, Frank “Wad” McKinnon and Larry Joe McKinnon.
