Alvin Ronald (Ronnie) Campbell, son of the late Billy Murray Campbell and LeeAnn Massey, was born Nov. 4, 1942 in Dallas Texas. He died peacefully Feb. 23, 2019.

Ronnie grew up in Greenville, Texas and was a graduate of Greenville High School in 1960. In 1965, he graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in industrial arts. He was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Ronnie enlisted in the United States Air Force in May 1966 and retired after 26-plus years of active service in January 1993. He then spent 10 years as a federal civilian servant retiring in October 2007.

Ronnie loved life! He enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golfing and was a revered racquetball player. Many generals requested to play with Ronnie when visiting the base. He also coached peewee football and baseball for the teams on which his son Mark played. He was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic and could yell at a TV like no other. His passion was woodworking, and he truly enjoyed making plaques, clocks and shadow boxes for fellow servicemen and -women. Ronnie also had a talent for making furniture. He absolutely loved hunting and fishing, especially in Colorado. Ronnie was very funny and loved being around people. Ronnie was tried and true Air Force Blue. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Yvonne Prather Campbell and brother Terry Bob Campbell.

Surviving are his sisters, Cynthia Bicknell (Danny) and Debbie Henderson (Ron); sister-in-law Melinda Campbell; daughter, Kathryn (Ryan) McDaniel; son, Mark (Cathy) Campbell; stepdaughters, Kim (Marc)Thomas and Dania (Ron) Joens; stepson, Roger (Mary Kay) Crownover; granddaughters, Bethany Magee, Erica Augustine, Alexandra Crownover, Victoria Crownover and Maegan McFarland; and grandsons, Troy Crown-over, Brandon Kellar, Nicholas Thomas and Adam Schachter, along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Lynch Funeral Services.
