Sulphur Springs welcomes Route 67 VW Road Trip group

Gary Alexander of Round Rock, Texas, led the 2024 Route 67 VW Road Trip caravan to a stop in Sulphur Springs on Monday, March 11, while making a Spring Break tour across the state. US Highway 67, originally named the Bankhead Highway, was considered the first paved transcontinental highway in America.

1985 Sulphur Springs High School graduate, current criminal justice teacher to become assistant principal

Demetra Johnson, right, a Sulphur Springs High School graduate currently teaching criminal justice classes at her alma mater, was recently approved to become one of SSHS' assistant principals when the 2024-2025 school year begins. Principal Brad Moughon, left, is one of her strong supporters. Staff photo by Tammy Vinson Demetra Robinson has been announced to become the new high school assistant principal, replacing Angie Edwards, who resigned in December 2023. Robinson is currently training, in addition to teaching her criminal justice classes at SSHS, and will begin her new position at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
