Cumby Police arrested an 18-year-old Michigan man after a high-speed car chase on Interstate-30, according to reports.

At approximately 12:49 p.m. on Friday, Cumby officer Zach Steward initiated a stop on a silver Camaro he allegedly believed to be going 91 mph in a 70 mph zone, according to reports. However, instead of stopping, the Camaro, driven by Nathaneil Narra of Sterling, Michigan, lead Steward on a chase, reports said.

As Narra’s vehicle exited at the 104 exit, Steward found himself unable to follow and exited at the 101 exit, informing Hunt County deputies and Commerce Police along the way, reports said. At that point, Narra’s vehicle turned on to State Highway 50 approaching the Commerce city limits where it allegedly hit another vehicle, reports said.

With three units directly behind the silver Camaro, smoke began to emerge from the right rear tire of the vehicle and at approximately 12:59 p.m., Narra’s vehicle lost its tire, reports said. The vehicle finally came to a stop on Hwy 50 near CR 4217.

Narra was booked in on charges of reckless driving and evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle on a total of $17,500 worth of bonds and was released the next day, according to records.

Narra is also known by the name “Nathan” Narra and holds a YouTube account with over 270,000 subscribers, according to his social media. Videos feature Narra racing the silver Camaro in which he allegedly attempted to evade Cumby police, and a tweet from March 7 reads, “I’m literally locked in rn 🔒💀”
