A 45-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested at her residence Monday during an investigation into allegations that she had stalked a former Sulphur Springs police officer approximately eight years ago.

The officer moved to another town and the harassing calls stopped, but started again after the officer visited Sulphur Springs recently.

Texas Ranger John Vance reportedly requested Kathleen Rose Ramshur release her cell phone to him to be downloaded as part of the investigation.  She did so, but Chief Investigator Corley Weatherford discovered the phone had been reset in an attempt to destroy evidence of the crime.

During further questioning, Ramshur reportedly admitted she was attempting to destroy the evidence on the phone.

She was arrested on a warrant for stalking and a charge of tampering with evidence in an attempt to impair an investigation, both third degree felonies. Bond was set at $15,000 per charge, and Ramshur remained in jail Thursday.
