UPRA finals to be held this week

Cowboys and cowgirls from all around the region will head to the Hopkins County Civic Center Nov. 19-21 to compete in the United Professional Rodeo Association’s CINCH finals for cash and fame.

CINCH STANDINGS

In bareback bronc riding, Hunter Ramsey of El Dorado, Ark. leads the event by a hefty margin followed by Kolt Dement of Rusk, Texas and Tyler Griffin of Stuart, Okla.

Lindsey McLeod of Lane, Okla. also leads the barrel racing event by a large margin, and Brittany Mayfield of Blue Ridge, Texas and Becky Maass of Elgin, Texas are in second and third place respectively.

J. J. Hampton of Stephenville, Texas sits in first in breakaway roping trailed by Shai Schaefer of Lake Creek, Texas and Jordi Edens of Gatesville, Texas. Hampton also sits in first place in the World Standings for breakaway roping.

In the bull riding event, Dawson Gleaves of Amarillo, Texas narrowly leads Joao Augusto of Gainesville, Texas. Rookie Marshall Adkins of Waskom is in a far third place.

Sy Felton of Dublin, Texas and rookie Trevor Hale of Perryton, Texas are neck-and-neck in the calf roping event with Felton holding a small lead. Trent McDonald of Post, Texas sits in third.

In the ranch bronc riding event, Kater Kennedy of Frost, Texas leads Trevor McCaslin of Glenpool, Okla. while Jesse Berrie of Fittstown, Okla. is in third place.

Saddle bronc rider Clint Lindenfield of Whitesboro, Texas had double the points of second-place Parker Fleet of Axtell, Texas. Jake Barnes of Stephenville, Texas, though, is not far behind Fleet in third.

Casey A. Stone of Sallisaw, Okla. leads in the steer wrestling by a healthy amount with Gavin Soileau of Bunkie, La. and Jay Williamson of Bokchita, Okla. sit in second and third respectively.

DETAILS

Only the performances will be held. The Handicapable Rodeo, Miss UPRA Queens Pageant, Contract Act Showcase, Champions Banquet and Hall of Fame Inductions have been rescheduled for 2021.

The gates open at 7 p.m. nightly with presale tickets currently available. During presale, adult tickets are $8 while children are $6, and at the door, adults are $10 while children are $8.
