Thirteen youth and three adults from Scout Troop 69

Thirteen youth and three adults from Scout Troop 69, Sulphur Springs returned from a week at Camp Tom Hale, near Talihina, Oklahoma last week. The Scouts earned 51 merit badges at camp.

Earning rank and merit badges were (from left): Brody Emmert — Environmental Science, Metalwork and Photography; Alex Flecker — Climbing, Snow Sports, Whitewater, and Wilderness Survival; Brandt Forester— Animation, First Aid, Theater and Wilderness Survival; Mikel Godwin — Moviemaking, Photography, Rifle Shooting and Space Exploration; Cameron Johnson — Art, Citizenship in the World, Pottery, Shotgun Shooting and Wilderness Survival; James Morgan — Art, Fish and Wildlife Management, Photography, Pottery, Soil and Water Conservation, and Theater; Garrett Tarver — Emergency Preparation, Engineering, Oceanography and Weather; Gunner Tarver —Camping, Communication, Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting; Aidyn Utt — Animation, Electricity, Electronics, Photography and Space Exploration; Brandon Williams — Art, Photography, Pottery, Rifle Shooting and Theater; Gage Williams — First Aid, Swimming and Trail to First Class; and Karson Williams — Electricity, Electronics, Engineering, Whitewater and Wood Carving.

Troop 69 also won the camp’s Scout Olympic competition. Earning awards in the Olympics were: Alex Flecker, firstt place Knot Tying; Mikel Godwin, first place Hatchet Throwing; Garrett Tarver, third place Snow Skiing; Gunner Tarver, first place Ga-Ga Ball; and Brandon Williams, first place Rifle Shooting and first place in the Art Contest.
