In Their Own Words - Robbin Vaughn

“[Husband] Bryan and I have both been going to work. The University Police Department and Hopkins County are still open for business.

“Our biggest disruption has been in our personal life. Our oldest daughter lives in Austin. They just went to shelter in place, and I worry about her having access to the things she needs.

“Our youngest daughter is special needs and resides in a small group home in the Dallas area. They are only allowing essential personnel to visit the home during this time, so we can only speak with her on the phone.

“Locally, I have had the stress of making sure my parent’s needs are being met. They are older and have health issues, so I normally order their groceries online and pick them up for them. It is pretty stressful to try and navigate the grocery stores and buy for two households, especially with the limits being placed on certain items. My sister and I have had to divide and conquer and become very strategic to make sure our parent’s list is covered. I don’t even try to make a list anymore. If we see something and think we can eat it, we grab it.

“We have had some minor inconveniences, but are blessed to be healthy and working.”
