The saying around the Main Street Theater is, “We are a nonprofit, and we are extremely good at it.”

As a nonprofit theater, the company depends on support from its patrons. To that end, the board of directors and members of the Main Street Theater will host an elegant event for current and prospective patrons at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at St. Philips Episcopal Church in Sulphur Springs.

Members of the community who support the arts are invited to attend.

The menu will include a Caesar salad, stuffed pork loin, seasoned green beans with almonds, twice-baked potato casserole, caramel pecan apple pie and tea, water, wine or mimosas (for guests over 21). A gluten-free option will also be available; however, cross-contamination cannot be eliminated.

The evening’s entertainment will include a live band comprised of adult thespians and skits performed by youth thespians.

“We’re trying to include all ranges of participation and giving levels,” said MST President Lyn-die Mansfield. “There are all kinds of ways to contribute — an hour of your time or a monetary gift.”

To attend the event, RSVP by Monday, Jan. 20 at https://buy.ticketstothecity.com/venue.php?org_id=303. Tickets are $20 ($15 for children) and will include a $10 membership and opportunity to serve as a voting member on the board of directors. Giving levels range $100-$5,000, including underwriting the 2020 season shows. Details are available at the event.
